The Twilight Express is the express train that covers the greatest length in the Japanese train service, namely from Osaka in the west of Honshu
to Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido, approx 1,500km.
The EF81 locomotive pulls the train on the coast on Sea of Japan between Osaka and Aomori, a long stretch covered by the spleeper train, which starts
from Osaka at high noon, runs over Aomori and through the undersea Seikan tunnel until it finally reaches Sapporo in Hokkaido island in the twilight
of next day morning. The Express Service takes about 23 hours to take you to its final destination.
