JR Tokai and JR West Japan, together, developed Series 700 in 1999 as the next-generation Bullet Train to run on
their Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen Lines. Train design has a distinctive blue lines pattern on a white body. It is
unique in the top shape designed on aerodynamic, single-armed pantographs.
Train runs between Metropolitan Tokyo and southern terminal Hakata in Kyushu at the maximum speed of 285 km/hour
(177 MPH) in just 4 hours and 57 minutes (fastest time).
