The prototype of the scale model, Series E531 is a suburban type AC electric train of JR East Japan, which made its debut in 2005 to replace its predecessors Series 403/415 on Joban Line. It is designed on the basis of E231 running in the metropolitan area in Japan, but it is renewed with rooftop details unique for AC train and peculiar frontwindow.
