The type EF65 No. 1118 locomotive appeared in September 1997 as the successor of car EF65-1019 with coating machine Rainbow aging. Super Express Rainbow painting was painted only in big white letters and red body EF65, on the side and it became popular from its special coating.
EF65 type electric locomotive has the same engine type as the EF60 type electric locomotive (the first Japanese second-generation DC electric locomotive type with six driven axles), but was introduced as a new standard prime mover due to its improved performance at higher speeds.
