The Baden IV h Class of Tender Steam locomotives of the Grand Duchy Baden State Railway have a 2'C1 wheel arrangement. The German Railways took all 20 Baden IVh locomotives as Class BR 18.3. The Badische IVh locomotives were originally intended for dragging the heavy rapid trains from Basel to Frankfurt. Until 1920 the Badische IVh was the most powerful German locomotive, with a maximum speed of 140 kph.
