Express train painting for electric locomotive EF58 is also called "blue train painting." The painting was used
for twenty EF58 locomotives dedicated to pull Series 20 Express Sleeper Passenger Cars, which made their
debut in 1958 as the Express Sleeper Train "Asakaze," meaning "morning breeze." The locomotive is painted blue
with a horizontal cream line on the bottom, matching the paint scheme of the pulled passenger cars. As its
other unique feature, the locomotive has hoses on its front bottom for equipment connection with the
power-generating car.
