The Glacier Express runs between Zermatt and St. Moritz, two famous mountain resorts in the Swiss Alps, The 8 hour journey by rail crosses 7 valleys, 291 bridges and 91 tunnels, granting passengers magnificent views of the glorious Alpine terrain from mountain streams to beautiful forests to snow covered ravines. In 2006, the Glacier Express incorporated all new panorama cars equipped with picture windows, air-conditioning and extra comfortable seats in order to make for a more pleasurable journey for its passengers, In 2009, a section of the Albula Railway (between Thusis and St. Moritz) was included in a list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
